ABOUT
Eva Vyhnackova
florist, garden designer, grower, head gardener, rewilding and land management specialist

I founded Florist from the Forest in 2016, foraging in the woods of the French Alps to create beautiful Christmas wreaths for the local chalets.

My passion for plants started at an early age, growing up in the countryside, I helped my grandmother with cultivating potatoes and roses.

When I followed my other interest to study Landscape Architecture at degree level, I kept finding myself being drawn back to foraging and growing cut flowers. When I had graduated I pursued a career of a garden designer and a part-time wedding florist.
Since moving to Devon I've worked as a head gardener at a wilding project, managing the garden and land department, maintaining and developing productive and ornamental gardens as well as establishing meadows, protecting species rich habitats and monitoring wildlife.

These experiences led me to the realisation that floristry can and should be done differently and I decided to open an 'ethical' florist.

With sustainability as a priority, supporting local flower growers, using recycled and recyclable materials, I hope to make a difference and inspire the florist industry to slowly turn away from import, waste and single use plastic.

OUR TEAM
SO FAR...
What might seem like a one woman show is a collaboration of many crafts from the moment you place an order until it arrives in your hands.
We work closely with local flower farms, and carefully select all products - we offer silk ribbons hand dyed by local women using plant based dyes as well as recycled wrapping paper and we hand tie our bouquets with natural hemp string.
